Renzo Rubino was born in Taranto in March 1988.
His career begins around his hometown with his band, his first Ep “”Farfavole” arrives in 2011 and in the same year he wins “Musicultura”. In 2012 Renzo wins the Sanremo academy, having the chance to participate in 2013 to Sanremo with the song “Il Postino”, a song from “Poppins” album.
On this occasion he wins the Mia Martini critics' prize. He returns to Sanremo in 2014, ranking third with the songs “Ora” and “Per sempre e poi basta“, winning the orchestra prize for best arrangement.
He participates as a regular guest in 2015 in “Fuori che tempo che fa”, plays around Italy and Europe, also he writes music for the theater. In 2017 he releases his third album “Il gelato dopo il mare” among the 25 best records of the year according to Panorama. In 2018 he returns to Sanremo with “Custodire” produced by Giuliano Sangiorgi from Negramaro. In 2019 he goes to the sea with his brand new Porto Rubino festival. In 2020 the second edition of Porto Rubino becomes a docufilm for Sky Arte, where important artists from Italian panorama take part. The docufilm was presented at the Rome Film Festival in October 2020.

Renzo Rubino nasce a Taranto nel Marzo 1988, inizia in ambito locale con la sua band, il suo primo Ep arriva nel 2011 con Farfavole e nello stesso anno è vincitore di Musicultura. Nel 2012 vince l’accademia di Sanremo per partecipare all’edizione 2013 con il brano “il postino” contenuto nel disco Poppins. In questa occasione vince il premio della critica Mia Martini. Torna a Sanremo nel 2014 classificandosi terzo con i brani “ora” e “per sempre e poi basta” vincendo il premio dell’orchestra come miglior arrangiamento. Partecipa come ospite fisso nel 2015 a che fuori che tempo che fa, suona in Italia e in Europa e scrive musiche per il teatro. Nel 2017 esce il suo terzo disco “il gelato dopo il mare” tra i 25 più bei dischi dell’anno secondo Panorama. Nel 2018 torna a Sanremo con Custodire prodotto da Giuliano Sangiorgi dei Negramaro. Nel 2019 va per mare con il suo festival Porto Rubìno. Alla seconda edizione de 2020 diventa anche docufilm per Sky arte presentato al festival del cinema di Roma a cui partecipano importanti artisti del panorama italiano.

Storie, Canzoni e Lupi di Mare

Porto Rubino è un format ideato e realizzato dall’artista Pugliese RENZO RUBINO. Nasce nel 2019 come “festival del mare” e diventa, nel 2020, un docufilm di 58 minuti girato in Puglia a Luglio 2020.

L’idea è molto semplice: una barca allestita come fosse un palco, un capitano di navigazione e un viaggio. La barca getta l’ancora in un porto, accoglie come ospiti artisti di fama nazionale, si suona, si leva l’àncora e si riparte.

PORTO RUBINO is a format created by the Apulian artist RENZO RUBINO.
It starts in 2019 as a “sea festival” and becomes, in 2020, a 58-minute long docufilm shot in Apulia in July 2020.

It is a very simple idea: a boat that is set up like a stage, a navigation captain and a journey. The boat anchors in a harbor, hosts nationally acclaimed artists, there is a concert, then the boat weighs anchor and leaves for another destination.
